Pedro Barros

Height: 199cm – 6’6’’
Born: 23.08.2000
Nationality: Brazil
Position: Guard
Current team: Joventut

RANK:
Of 2000 Generation

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • strong build with broad shoulders
  • good size for the guard
  • not affraid of physical contact and can use strength advantage against smaller or thinner guards on post up plays
  • highly energetic player but at the same time he controls the emotions and seems to be very focused on the game
  • very good and repeatable shooting motion
  • notable slashing ability
  • decent court vision & able to read pick and roll situations very well
  • equally good player defensively – gets very low to the ground and is able to press full court. Can guard multiple positions including power forwards If there is no significant height advantage
  • good teammate – speaks excellent english, very well raised

  • a little bit sloppy ball handler at times – could keep it lower and protect the ball better. This skill doesn’t catch up to the high level overall skillset
  • doesn’t create a lot of good looks for himself. Average finisher at the rim in drives
  • none of his skills seems likely to achieve elite level
OUTLOOK
Barros comes from the city of Vitoria in Brazil and officialy joined Joventut program in September of 2014. Pedro is mature beyond his age on and off the court and displays rare consistency. He is very likely to continue tradition of great Brazilian players who became really successful pros after moving out to Spain. Unfortunately he suffered serious knee injury in 2017. We will see how he bounces back after this.
