TOP 30 RISERS

While there is no changes on the 1st spot and Luka Doncic, Sekou Doumbouya & Killian Hayes keep leading their peers let’s see who improved his stock notably last weeks:

Nicolas Bretzel (1999, #21)  – He didn’t really practise seriously until he was 16yo and had some injuries in the past. Didn’t even play much last year but this season he’s been showing amazing progress in Orange Academy. Used to be a bit chubby and now is super light on his feet. Recently scored 6 points and recorded two blocks in just 4 minutes in his BEKO BBL debut.

Martynas Arlauskas (2000, #16) – Saras apparently loves him. He may not be ready to play Euroleague now but the experience that he is gaining can be crucial for his further development. Barely 17yo player who arrive on Euroleague games except garbage time must have something special in himself.

Marko Simonovic (1999, #4) – Montenegrin big already scored multiple times in double digits at strong Italy A2 league and has been very productive per minute in general. He started to appear in mock drafts and probably it’s just the matter of time until he surpasses Isaac Bonga to get the third spot.

Alen Smailagic (2000, #28) – Smailagić is one of the best Serbian prospects born in 2000. We use term one of the best but this could very well mean simply the best in most of the other nations as Serbia has Pecarski, Koprivica, Petrusev or Dalibor Ilic in this generation. He signed for Dynamic in january, but could skip them for Partizan. 6-8 6-9 forward who plays inside and out. Has good ball handling, can shot and posses above average athleticism. Serious prospect who is currently totally dominant in domestic U19 League!

Andrzej Pluta – (2000, #27) As far as pure skillset, Andrzej is one of the best guards in Europe from his generation. Currently he is averaging almost 19 points per game in EBA Liga and as befits for son of arguably the best Polish shooter ever his 3pt percentage is almost 50%. It is impressive considering he takes 9 attempts per game.

Aleksej Pokusevski (2001, #25) – Novi Sad native joined Greek team nearly two years ago. He possess incredible combination of height and skillset. Has amazing handles and pull up repertoire for 6’10 guy. On the other hand Aleksej is not so explosive and very skinny. That would be just too much if he was good athlete but still he is candidate to bring a lot of attention during 2017/2018 AdidasNGT season.

Santiago Aldama – (2001, #18) There is more high level prospects than just Oumar Ballo in The Academy. We claim that it was our mistake to rank him way too low after FIBA U16s. Santi’s upside is just through the roof given his size, coordination, considerable shooting skills and wing like skillset.

Onuralp Bitim (1999, #24) – Turkish prospect used to be even in Top10 in top lists of his generation not so long ago. His mentality used to be question tag but it seems like he made significant strides towards being more mature and better teammate. Currently started his loan to Bakirkoy Basket really well with 13 points and couple of athletic finishes.

Zoran Paunovic (2000, #19) – Recently led Crvena Zvezda to the triumph in GBA Invitational in front of few NBA scouts. It is not the Red Star team that you cannot beat but he will definitely be a leader at this year Adidas Next Generation Tournament.

Philipp Herkenhoff (1999, #13) – First year when he doesn’t need to divide his time and attention between school and basketball works really well for Philipp. He is getting things done on both ends of the floor in the best Pro A team. Hopefully he can continue doing this next season after promotion to Beko BBL.
