STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • decent size for position – can play as a secondary ball handler
  • very good in transition – nice body control, comfortable ball handler at full speed. He doesn’t always run there though
  • hard working and eager to improve
  • attacks the glass frequently
  • really bulked up last months. Frame is not outstanding but developable body in general. Projected to grow 1-2 inches
  • showed flashes of backdoor, baseline cuts but off the ball activity comes and goes. Also not really able to athletic finish
  • contests shoots effectively, good aggressiveness and feel for defensive traps 
  • body language & communication – not as bad as it sounds. Likeable teammate, just need to change expression when things don’t go right
  • playing against physical competition – still not able to create enough space to get a shot off but he is late bloomer with room for improvement here as he has a promising balance and handles
  • shooting form – it’s not pure but percentage is at least acceptable. Wrist action is a bit stiff – may be affected by bulking up at the moment
  • unstable at times – makes mistakes inapprioprate for his talent scale
  • tries too much low post plays. Height can’t overcome lack of strength in core and upper body for now
  • lateral agility is not there yet
OUTLOOK
Oskar is a son of former internationals – Ilse Ose and Michal Hlebowicki. Father was Polish and kid holds dual citizenship. Hlebovicki is kind of Point Forward who needs better physicality and stable motivation level to succeed. His talent really exploded recently as he established himself as a one of the most intriguing 2000 born players in Latvia. It gets even more impressive regarding the fact that not so long ago he was considered being not good enough for national youth teams in Poland where competition is notable worse. He has a potential to play for the best teams at least in Poland or Latvia in future.
