Most recently, Junior Kemm drew attention with a dominant performance at this year’s Szent Istvan Cup and is among the top 4-star prospects in our generation ranking of 2007. Considering that Kemm only earned a roster spot on this team via voluntary participation in a Stellazzurra Roma summer camp, this is definitely impressive that he is already leading this team athletically, with his constant motor and offensive creativity.
For how long are you playing basketball already?
I am playing basketball since I was 4 years old, because my dad was playing basketball. So, he inspired me to play.
Did you also try other sports?
No, I only focused on basketball.
When did you notice that basketball is your priority?
Really from the beginning, like when I started. My dad pushed me to go for it, so I was really focused.
What is your correct size?
193cm / 6’3”
How would you describe your play style and on which position do you see yourself long term?
For now, I see myself as a point guard or 2-guard. I like playing offense but defense too. I really like to play pick and rolls and play without the ball. On defense I like to steal balls and block shots like just being aggressive.
What are some things you are focusing on currently in terms of getting better?
I pretty much work on everything and just being focused.
What are some of the things you like doing off the court? You have any hobbies?
Not that much, because we have practice every day. I don’t do that much. When there is free time, I watch some Netflix or play some FIFA, but nothing much. Of course, I also have still school, so there isn’t that much time.
What are some of your goals for the rest of this season?
I want to win the championship and just get better every day!
Looking long term? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
That’s hard to answer.
Lets say it in a different way. Can you imagine going to college or what is your ideal path to being a pro?
Yeah, college is definitely a good option for me. I just want to see what my best option is and then I decide.
Can you name one thing you have improved or learned this season?
I definitely learned to be more aggressive on defense. Defense or also rebounding can change games, so that is what I learned.
Do you have any music that you are listening before games or even some pre-game rituals?
I like to listen to hip-hop and rap music before games. That’s it, from that I am ready to go.
Will you be with the national team this summer?
You will see this summer…
What would you like to be remembered for?
That’s a hard one. I don’t know for now.
