STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • extremely high motor player
  • physical specimen. Broad shoulders, big hands. Build like a tank
  • good lockdown defender. Possess ability to defend every perimeter player. Displays great lateral quickness. Competitive approach
  • good weakside rim protector. Has enough strength and also mostly length to defend power forwards on the low post
  • extremely bouncy. Also possess long wingspan. Can dunk over every defender. Very good lob target
  • can really make a powerful play in open lane
  • covers a lot of ground. Decent rebounder
  • passing skills and general understanding of the game are far from perfect
  • limited ball handler. Can drive only in straight lines. Could attack more aggressively in the half court with energy and tools he has
  • not really fluid mechanics but seems to be developable as a shooter. Huge need to polish this skill to succeed on the next level with his style
  • overuses power at times. Low level of creativity
OUTLOOK
Combo Forward Pons was born in Haiti and moved to France at the age of 4. He is an elite athlete and multipositional defender who can really overwhelm his opponents with his attributes. Needs to work on fundamentals and extend his offensive repertoire to be considered more than high level role player. Recently committed to Tennessee.
