STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • good length and size for small forward position, wide body frame
  • reportedly lots of growing left. Expected to be around 207 cm according to bone rentgen
  • high motor player. Intensity and effort are really huge. Big threat in transition
  • brings a lot of energy on both ends. Tough, ever shies away from contact
  • outstanding rebounder for position. Especially on the offensive glass. Scores after put back on the regular. Long arms + good leaping
  • can possibly become lockdown defender. Equally good on and off the ball on on this end of the floor
  • fights hard to go over screens, bend his knees a lot, good agility. Able to defend 4 positions
  • inconsistent shooter. Surely needs a tweak in his mechanics
  • not a threat at all on the perimeter. Needs space to accelerate and get to the rim. Heavily favours his left hand
  • slightly below average ball handling and court vision. Adding ability to go coast-to-coast or to dish the ball at least in transition would be huge asset for him
  • shows flashes of being a really good cutter but effort and awareness comes and goes
  • gets into foul trouble. Tends to do unnecessary hand checking
OUTLOOK
Gultekin is one of the best defenders in this class. This combined with great rebounding skills and poise he plays with make him very intriguing prospect. Needs to improve his offensive skillset and consistency in general. He is supposed to attend prep school before collegiate career.
