Height: 201cm - 6’7’’
PREDRAFT MEASUREMENTS
Sasha Grant (02’, 6’6’’ Forward) It wasn’t his best tournament, got only 2 points in each of the first two games, couldn’t catch the rhythm and was shooting poorly converting only 5 shots out 17 from beyond the arc in the event. We still don’t know if he’s managed to improve his FT’s as he only went to the line twice getting 2/4, shouldn’t have a problem improving his %’s as he possesses very smooth release that probably needs few tweaks here and there. Has nice handles and can take care off the ball in the open court. Averaged 6.3pts, 3.3reb, 0.8ast, 1stl, 2.8TO’s
SASHA GRANT (6’6, Forward, Bayern) – Very positive showing. Super strong player. Quite maximized but his ripped body and tools will stand out also on next level. Excels in slashing and aggressive defense but 3 and D is more desirable than slash and defend. Sasha’s stroke is very irregular and has noumerous flaws. Basically he is limited to catch & explode plays. He is unlikely to ever do crafty things on the court and has no wiggle with the ball. Without getting his shot right or 1-2 more inches which he is unlikely to have left, it will be hard to slip into high level pro consideration.
U16 OVERVIEW | |
---|---|
Matthias Sasha Grant is a player with interesting background. Born to Italian mother and British-Jamaican father. Transferred to Bayern Munich on the beginning of 2017/2018 season. Before everything else he possess highly desirable physical profile. He is easily able to contribute at U18 or U19 age group without any visible disadvantage. There may be some questions how big room for improving his tools he has left but his and athleticism surely will stand out on the next level even with just slight changes to its current stage. Sasha is very powerful player and opportunistic slasher. He does many good things on the court for his team by maximizing his physical presence especially as far as rebounding, defending and transition offense are concerned. However his feel for the game is a work in progress. He doesn’t have much wiggle with the ball to shake his defender in halfcourt. Also 3pt shooting is a must improve especially if he doesn’t have any inches left. Unfortunately at this moment he has numerous flaws in his mechanics and not overly promising touch. |
