Kymany was filling all stat lines again as he did in the qualifiers tournament in Belgrade a few months ago. He played his game and was the main creator in Asvel’s offense. Due to his above average positional size and athleticism he was hard to stop on drives and showed advanced finishing at the rim. He was making similar mistakes as in the qualifying tournament with losing the balls too carelessly and struggled with shots from deep. It won’t be easy for him to get a spot in the Asvel’s pro roster next season but his player profile could be a good fit in a fast paced system and in my opinion teams from Australian NBL should try to bring him over for the NBL Next Stars program.

The third Asvel player and another above average athlete that was dominant in athletic aspects over the competition. When he decided to go downhill there was no player at the tournament that could stop him. He had some brain freeze moments when he missed a layup or when he decided to stop and pass instead of going for a layup and in general made a few bad decisions during the tournament and needs to put more work on improving that part of his game. Also there is a lot to improve in the shooting part of his game too. He has the athletic tools but at the moment his playmaking, decision making and shooting raise a lot of question marks in my head.

Kymany finished the tournament with averages of 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and we don’t see stat lines like this so often in FIBA competitions. He is a versatile guard with very good positional size and fluidity. At the moment more dangerous on open court and when he has more space to operate but has shown that he can sink shots if left open too. Not a consistent scorer but showing some improvements in this area and his development is, in my opinion, going in the right direction. Plays a lot with the ball in his hands as primary creator and not bringing much to the table as an off-ball player.  With his athleticism and length Kymany has a lot to offer in defense too where he is capable of defending multiple positions and playing aggressive defense on perimeter. His ceiling will depend on his ability to be a consistent scoring threat in offense and how much he could contribute to the team when playing off-ball.

The youngest participant of the tournament had a lot of playing time and promising moments in Valencia. Kymany is super talented guard who reminds a bit more athletic version of Joel Ayayi. He stands around 6’4 and may have 1 or 2 inches left, displays very good length and bounce. His attitude was fearless and few times he impressed with wilingness to play through contact, confidence to attack the basket and defensive capability. He didn’t convert any from 4 threes but shots rather easy ball which gives hope he can be good from behind the arc. Bigger improvement he needs may be left hand and pace shifting but it’s too early to state if he can become a legitimate PG down the road or just slasher / scorer. Hoinsou still has a room to develop physically but turns 15 in few days and strength wise is on the level of at least 2003 born kids. Anyway he is clearly really big project and possibly can become in mid term future next big thing from ASVEL after Theo Maledon. From now on will definitely be followed closely by all European based international scouts.
