STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • super tall – close to 7 foot in shoes
  • visibly less thin than in the past. Should still be able to add some muscles on his frame
  • has really soft both hands. Promising non dunk finisher
  • not limited to simple lay ups after good dimes. Turns it to either shoulder
  • may not be very fluid but ok mobility for a player this size
  • shows surprising upside as a passer
  • smart kid
  • slow and mechanical coordination at this point
  • bends his knees but lacks lateral mobility to defend on perimeter and outside
  • not so strong legs. Can’t always hold his ground. Can position himself well to get the ball in the post
  • poor vertical – can he protect the rim?
  • still figuring things out in 2 man game. Not the most instinctive screener. Lacks good partners on PG position
OUTLOOK
Jarmo Pomstra is Dutch big man who can be interesting long term prospect when he fully matures and learn things in good basketball environment. Beside size and bright academical future he has interesting post moves and can find open teammates.
