Scouting Notebook: Prospects in resumed leagues
Jaime Pradilla is probably the biggest “success story” of this tournament. Played for Palencia in second spanish league during the season and got his chance at the final tournament to play for Zaragoza. Showed toughness, fought for rebounds, brough energy, run the floor really well.. was doing everything what you expect from a young big man. Had some good post up moves too. Signed a four year contract with Valencia after the tournament finished.

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • highly energetic player. Displays good mobility and effort
  • fantastic low post scorer. Good strength and footwork. Has variety of moves. Crafty finisher
  • knows how to use his body to create space and separation from defender
  • really smart player. Understands his limits, finds a way to compete against more athletic opponents thanks to his IQ
  • fairly maximized frame for his age group. Can easily finish through contact around the rim
  • notable court vision for a front court player. Can high low pass
  • steady and constant scorer. Plays with tons of confidence
  • reliable rebounder with proper fundamentals. Grabs strong rebounds in traffic
  • his body is almost done. Not so much room for physical improvement
  • neither explosive nor athletic. Will definitely need to improve his foot speed not to be minus defender
  • needs to take his game outside a bit more upcoming seasons. Shooting mechanics is not overly consistent at the moment
  • lacks length. Doesn’t provide much in terms of rim protection
OUTLOOK
Jaime Pradilla is an oldschool type of center who unfortunately possess size typical for Power Forward. His offensive post moves are unbelievably polished. He is really dominant against peers and already has a good international recognition thanks to his offensive talents. Skill wise he is on elite level but needs adjustments regarding his physicality and playing style on the next level. That’s why young Spanish player is considered very good but not top of the top prospect.
