Igor Milicic (SF/PF | 205cm | ‘02) ~ Ratiopharm Ulm

Impressive pace of development regarding that Igor Milicic Jr didn’t even make the final cut for the tournament last season. Son of Anwil Wloclawek head coach maybe didn’t dominate the tournament but still it was his international breakout performance. However it can’t be a surprise for those following german NBBL where he emerged as a real force and quickly became integral part of Orange Academy in very challenging competition for U18 player like Pro B. Polish Croatian prospect is a sized small forward who can get to the rim and many guards can be jealous of his adept ball handling skills or non dunk situational finishes for someone standing around 6’9 in shoes. Fairly athletic, with nice fluidity, can speed up the offense or go coast to coast after grabbing the rebounds which he excels in. Shot looks correct with high release point and despite the fact that he looks to drive it can definitely become dependable in short future. What may be the most attractive about Igor is how much room for improvement he has given being late bloomer. He just stopped growing, became way more explosive, improved his coordination which allows him to feel his body better and that can be huge advantage once his frame fills out. He is still transitioning to the go to guy role, could attack more to the left, has occasional issues with defending smaller players but he looked every bit of Top 30 prospect caliber given his length, versatility, fundamentals and having something special which is hard to define to his game.

U16 OVERVIEW
Igor Milicic Jr. is a son of former Croatian pro who played as a point guard mostly in Poland but also for Turkish, Russian, Belgium and Greek teams. Currently father is a coach of Anwil Wloclawek. He has two other very talented sons (2006 born Zoran and two years younger Teo who seems to have phenomenal talent). He started career in MKK Koszalin where he was coached by Bartlomiej Siewruk – father of best Polish 2002 prospects who resides in Barcelona. Junior already stands over 6’5 and similarly to senior shows advanced feel which allow him to run the team as sometimes even primary guard. He has a good handles and it is very easy to realize that he basically grew up with the ball in his hands and that almost no one from his peers understands the game that well. Despite very good talent he wasn’t given enough chances to showcase his potential in Poland. His physical profile seems a little worrying as he lacks burst and is not super fluid at this point. Igor holds dual (Polish/Croatian) citizenship.

Player: IGOR MILICIC Team: Trefl Sopot DOB: 2002 Height: 185CM Position: G/F

Comments: Son of Anwil Wloclawek coach. Father is Croatia former good tall (195cm) point guard who played last 5 seasons of his career in Poland. Kid is very talented and has amazing ball handling for the size plus moves and IQ. Siewruk used to coach him and he says kid will be amazing. He keeps growing a lot and looks a bit awkward and has ways to go physically. Coaches doesn’t treat him well and he looked poor and played only 15 mpg. Father already took him to Alba Berlin for the tryout with his best friend from this team. Will probably move there next season. Kid speaks Croatian, Polish, German and English! my guess is if he is good enough will play for Croatia. Has two younger brothers. People say that even more talented.
