Recap: Balkan Scouting Trip
Boris Tišma (’02) is slowly getting in better offensive shape after not that good start of the season and had 8 points in 16 minutes on this match but scored 16 in 10 points in last two round of ABA league. Played most of the game off-ball and sink two open three point shots. Had some post up and some drives but didn’t managed to create any separation for an uncontested shot on those attempts.

Boris Tišma (F | 206 cm | ‘02) ~ Croatia

10.4 pts, 2FG-37.1%, 3FG-30.4%, FT-850.0%, 5.6 rebs, 4.0 ast, 1.8 stl, 2.8 to, 0.4 blks

A versatile wing that can play inside or outside. He wasn’t playing a lot in ACB in last season and that could be one of the reasons why he struggled with his shooting efficiency in the tournament. His release looks shaky and not consistent and he definitely has room to improve as a shooter from distance. Likes to play on perimeter and attack with drives while also capable to post up smaller players on low post. Not an elite athlete and could have a hard time getting past top level athletes even though he has solid handles for his position. Solid as a defender on perimeter too, slides his feet well and has good reactions. In my opinion, his ceiling is higher as an outside wing and his game translates better to international competitions than to the NBA.

Maybe wasn’t as dominant as other top prospects here but he still has ways to go physically. Great shooting package, rare ability to come off screens at 6’9 and next play sniper mentality.

Munich AdidasNGT: Summary
Boris Tisma (02’, 6’8’’, Forward) Lefty sharpshooter, with a nice stroke, long body and high shoulders. Was off to a good start in the group phase shooting very well from beyond the arc converting 46.2% of his shots, but then had a cold streak in the final missing all of his 5 shots and finishing without a point. Not much of a playmaker, relies heavily on catch and shoot opportunities, but can also beat his man off the dribble and get inside confidently. Too passive, not very aggressive, has more laid back style, but looked stronger since the summer and was finishing inside more boldly than before. Mediocre on ball defender and rebounder usually looking for a break straight away. Averaged 8.3pts, 1.3reb, 0.3ast, 0.5stl, 1TO’s.

Evaluation 2002-2003

U16 OVERVIEW
Boris Tisma moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2015 as barely 13 years old. Previously he was a member of KK Dubrava. His father Miodrag is 6’9 former pro who played about 10 seasons on average Croatian level. Boris has two years younger brother who currently suits up for Cedevita Zagreb. Lefty forward resembles some qualities of his extremely successful countryman – Toni Kukoc. He looks very smooth on the court and it’s easy to notice his great understanding of the game. He seems to have all the ingredients to take point forward role on the court. Suffice it to mention very good handles for someone who already stands around 6’7, desirable court vision and ability to involve his teammates as pick & roll ball handler. Moreover poise, competitiveness and shooting skills are also there. Tisma body looks intriguing but is years away from reaching full development (after first season in Real weighted 74 kilo standing at 6’6, grew up overall 10cm first two years in Madrid) which is not bad thing at all.

BORIS TISMA (CROATIA, REAL MADRID, 2002, 202CM) – Smooth operator. In as physically imposing team as it’s possible in this age group Boris stands out as the best long term prospect in Real Madrid. He also has intriguing body and tools but it will take some time until he reaches full development which is good thing considering in how big degree Boris is already able to contribute. He is poised and smart player who can get aggressive and score but likes to involve his teammates in offense even more. Hard not to be impressed by this versitality offered from 6’8 point forward who has catch & shot sets run for him and operates as pick & roll ball handler where he dishes the ball with creativity. Moreover has polished pump fake and solid first step combined with footwork and body control which helps him to excel also in fastbreaks. In general displays very mature attitude and playing style. Rarely gets too excited, has great concentration and enough competitiveness to be even more intriguing.

Boris Tisma (2002, Real Madrid)

Lefty forward who already reached 2 meters. Quite athletic for height and slender. Great wingspan allows him to get into passing lanes and steal balls easily. He is very tall for his position and often has to defend players smaller than him. His ball dominance has to be improved because he killed some possesions by dribbling too much to no avail. The mechanics of his shoot is not correct because he gets it off from above the head. Good player without the ball. On defense he had problems since he does not have enough lateral speed and faster players blow him by at times.
