A pair of prospects that are not making much headway in the Jeep Elite is the Chalons-Reims duo of combo gaurd Matthieu Gauzin and Lithuanian floor general Arnas Velicka. Gauzin arrives on loan from Le Mans where he struggled to find his footing on the roster in the 19-20 season. His development did not go as plan in the past season as the club embarked upon a disastrous campaign. The smooth savy Gauzin looks to remind scouts this season of the talent he possesses. On the other hand, Velicka has interesting traits for France. His ability to dissect the pick and role will be something to take note. And with the physical play of the league, he has good size on him to fend off defenders. Velicka is the second coming of Valenica’s Martin Hermannsson for coach Heitz of Chalons-Reims. Velicka seems destined for success under the offensive system in place.

STRENGHTS	WEAKNESSESS
decent height and built. Strong legs and upper body. Absorbs a lot of contact. Frees himself at will to get the pass great leadership qualities. Kind of floor general with great vision who communicates a lot on the floor and wants the ball in crunch time physical player with worthy defensive effort. Denies off the ball, fights through screens. Above average defensive rebounder master of half court offense for his age group. Instinctive offensive player with advanced IQ. Reads the pick and roll defense properly. Advanced passing skills very good handles, uses body perfectly to protect the ball. Sees the floor well with his back to the basket jumpshot is not so fluent but really improved in this category. Capable of hitting threes when the defender goes under the screen	creates for others first but not that willing to pass the ball quickly. Overdribbles from side to side at times. Not really suitable for uptempo game average athlete. Can change the tempo but lacks leaping ability. Strong body is not his advantage around the rim. Lacks finishing flair to put the ball in the hoop doesn’t create much space in isolation to get the shoot off. Reckless manner to keep the dribble high
OUTLOOK
All around playmaker prospect who started his career in Zalgiris Kaunas. Velicka is a pass first old school type of Point Guard. He contributes on both ends of the floor and looks ready to start gaining professional experience. He exploits and recognizes offensive opportunities like only few does at his age. His game is hard to translate for the NBA requirements but he can develop into starting Euroleague PG in few years.
