STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • all around shooter with great mechanics and precision, has high percentage in shooting off dribble
  • nice basketball IQ, analyzes defenses to exploit the weak sides with passes
  • very good finisher at the rim, rallies to the basket if he finds a little bit of a space
  • developing as a court leader, plays a lot more with the ball and calls plays compared to the earlier seasons
  • positions himself well on offense especially around the arc to knockdown wide open threes
  • watches out passing lines and gets easy steals thanks to his good court awareness
  • atarted to excel in playing Pick and Rolls, finds the roll man by creating separation, which is crucial for his potential as a combo guard
  • more of a rhythm shooter at that level, struggles when his first shots don’t fall off
  • not a pure point guard but also he does not possess the physical tools for shooting guard position
  • has ok sprint speed but quickness and acceleration are not even average at that stage, that is why gets into trouble while guarding a quicker player
  • ball handling is just OK, it becomes an issue on creating offense and limits his point guard potential
  • body language shows bad signs in some games, looks tired way too early
OUTLOOK
Son of a former Tofaş Bursa captain Murat Konuk. He has a good reputation as a shot making two-guard in Turkish Youth teams and displayed that in 2016 European U16 Championship. In 2017-2018 Season he tries to crack the senior team roster in Tofaş, and recently became the first 2000 born player to score in Turkish Basketball Super League. Always seems calm on the court, what was impressive in his development in recent years is that he started to become more of a team player than earlier seasons. Still there are lots of weaknesses in his game which arouse curiousity but he will likely be a good shooter in a mid-table BSL team in the upcoming seasons.
