STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • good mobility for a player his size and weight. Quite coordinated, runs well end-to-end
  • decent strength. Holds position well in the post and gets inside the paint. Good at executing advantages in this area
  • can occassionaly start the fast break after rebound
  • really good passer for a position. Possess solid court vision. Makes quick decisions after catch
  • impressive rebounding instincts. Can tip the ball, uses body to clear space
  • very good and willing screener
  • good defensive effort to contest the shoots in the paint. Has no fear in banging in the post
  • acceptable but not the most efficient finisher. Can miss some easy attempts
  • makes effort to be creative with footwork and moves in the post but to no avail so far against bigger centers. Tries difficult long distance jump-hooks at times
  • undersized for a Center position. Dangerous mostly as a passer while stretching the floor. Needs to add range to his decent-looking shot
  • gives too much room for outside shots defensivel
OUTLOOK
Tass is a Tallin native who spent one year of high school in France playing for Limoges. He is a player with good IQ who can be very productive offensively but is definitely a team first type of guy. Lack of great size can limit his potential among big man in the professional basketball. The key to succeed on the high level for Matthias is developing his outside game to be able to contribute more as a Power Forward. He has a tools to fit this position in modern style especially with improved explosiveness.
