STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • good size for swingman with nice wingspan
  • fast and fluid. Great agility and body control – can use every hole in the defense. Quick enough first step
  • good in transition. Can change direction quickly and avoid taking the charge. Quick decision maker and comfortable ball handler at full speed who can make an assist in fast break
  • very good cutter. Can elevate quickly and get the bucket around the rim. Doesn’t need the ball much to be productive. Rare ability for someone who plays with the ball so well, even as a go-to player in his age group
  • really talented as a finisher. Has nice hang time, can get the right angle off the backboard
  • not the quickest mechanics but noticeably improved as off the dribble perimeter shooter. Makes threes with his feet set too
  • good rebounding instincts on the offensive end. Scores second chance points regularly
  • has defensive potential. Can anticipate the passes. Solid lateral movement but needs to be more aggressive and quicker in rotation
  • could raise his leadership qualities. Seems to be calm, lacks some killer instinct
  • a bit too slender. Needs to put some muscles on his decent frame. Not really overly athletic for US standards
  • not consistent day in day out. Too emotional about bad plays. Needs to reduce TO numbers
  • relies too heavily on his right hand around the rim
  • ball protection could be better. Needs to keep working on handles a lot
OUTLOOK
Hoard has a basketball in his genes. His mother played for the University of Washington and American born father was a professional player in France. He left INSEP during high school to continue career in the USA and get better College exposure. He is a player with huge upside. All the small imperfactions he has skill-wise are developable so improvements in mental attitude and competitiveness are the keys to maximize his potential and slip into NBA draft.
