Hendrik Drescher

Height: 205cm – 6’9’’
Born: 21.03.2000
Nationality: Germany
Position: Big
Current team: Alba Berlin

RANK:Of 2000 Generation

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • really strong body – about 250 pounds
  • really trying to take his game outside. Made a big strides in short term as a shooter
  • nice feel and decent overall skillset
  • can pass the ball well for a big man
  • despite his thickness is really creative and offers more than just physicality to create for himself on low post. Displays nice touch in both hands
  • has solid footwork. Can convert hook shots. Uses fakes leading to counter moves
  • moves fairly good regarding big body but still a bit on heavy side. Looks like he has tendency to gain weight
  • perimeter skills. Not a threat beside shooting with his face to the basket.
  • lack of athletic potential and short size for center really hurts his upside
  • plays below the rim
  • doesn’t offer much as a rim protector
OUTLOOK
Drescher moved to Alba Berlin before 2016/2017 season and signed three year deal altogether with his teammate Jonas Mattiseck. He started to play basketball at the age of 11 which is not really early start but somehow he was quickly able to establish himself as a prospect with decent feel for the game and good skill level. He needs to keep polishing his outside game and find a way to fully use his IQ and instincts to successfully compete against bigger and more athletic players.
