STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • great size and length for position. Proportionate body frame and really long arms
  • lacks some burst but has a really long strides and can shift the gears
  • can run fluidly with the ball at full speed. Makes effort to go coast-to-coast after rebound
  • very good confidence level. Always ready to make a play in isolation
  • advanced pull up game. Can shoot in a good rhythm after hesitation move or step backs
  • uses length to finish a play if didn’t create separation from defender. Solid touch on floaters
  • can develop into really good and creative passer. But sense of timing to share the ball isn’t perfect yet. Also tries to make it too fancy at times
  • makes really silly mistakes for such a hot prospect. Questionable decisions and sloppy dribbling happens regularly
  • streaky shooter. Some attempts from downtown are not even close to go in
  • tries to cover a lot of ground and really got a defensive potential but hasn’t found a way to use it yet. Flashes way too much. Very average lateral coordination doesn’t allow him to stay in front. Tools over instincts for now
  • not a good player off the ball. Arrives for the ball far away from the basket. Prefers to produce himself
  • body language seems to be an issue. Really hard at himself at times. Affects his attitude for the next plays
OUTLOOK
Kalaitzakis comes from Haraklion and has a twin brother who plays for Aris Saloniki. He brings to the table impressive mix of scoring abilities and physical attributes for a combo guard. He is already under contract with Panathinaikos which doesn’t have the best reputation as far as developing young players is concerned. However at this point practising with the best European guards may help him to get rid of few weaknessess he has. He fits uptempo, multi-positional basketball perfectly and has enough room to develop into NBA candidate.
