STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • good finisher around the rim – even in traffic, never puts the ball down and makes an attempt quickly after catch
  • has a sense of opponent position – knows when to make a pump fake or resign from the shot. Uses it often successfully to draw fouls
  • capable of finding good angles off the backboard from short mid range
  • sets position perfectly on the low block
  • runs the good lines – easy to find in pick and roll
  • really catches fire at times – shows great confidence during scoring streaks
  • patient passer from the low post – can predict double teams and scores there consistently – it makes him a threat in inside outside offense
  • very efficient mid range shooter – especially from the baseline
  • fundamentally sound shooting mechanics – maybe except narrow feet set 
  

  • not able to keep pace with players who can stretch the court
  • hasn’t add three point range yet altough being already good at long perimeter shoots
  • rarely can stop pick and roll ball handler – usually leaves a lot of space on Defense and recovers thanks to good timing to contest which is risky
  • physicale profile – just 6’8 without shoes – not promising regarding playing style
  • frame or wingspan doesn’t stand out at all
  • below the rim player – his efficiency will likely get limited while facing bigger guys 
OUTLOOK
Venskus is a player with great habits typical for well coached oldschool center. He is a bit limited body wise. Also his agility and quickness is closer to the 7 footer and doesn’t match highest standards. Needs a big progress on the defensive end and physical abilities in order to succeed on the senior level.
