Dino Radončić

Height: 202cm – 6’8’’
Born: 08.01.1999
Nationality: Montenegro
Position: Forward
Current team: Zaragoza

RANK:
Of 1999 Generation

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • strong legs. Upper body is wide and already meets the standards of professional player
  • great height for small forward position, big enough to play small ball PF. Can be dominant inside the paint against weaker players from his position
  • has an ability to powerfully drive to the basket even through traffic. Unstoppable force in this category for his age group
  • very good passer. Can find the open teammate either from low post or share the ball on the move
  • creates own shoots. His body allows him to clear out space
  • very good three point shooter after catch. Repeatable, fluid and quick enough motion. Can also score from behind the arc after simple stop and pop. Also developed really effective shot fake
  • mature not only physical-wise. Concentrated on the game, shows leadership
  • shows flashes of good pull up game and as a pick and roll ball handler
  • looks ok defensively but doesn’t need much effort and power to defend players in U18 category. Needs to be evaluated against the old man. Doesn’t seem to be overly quick on his feet in lateral movement
  • finishing with right hand is good enough only if close to the rim. Willing to attack to this side and may add this ability but touch leave a lot to be desired 2-3 meters away from the basket
  • average leaping ability. Good not great first step
OUTLOOK
Player with very interesting history as he transfered from Barcelona youth teams to the biggest rival from Madrid. Also he considered multiple federations to play for in the future. Dino was born in Germany by Serbian mother but eventually picked the nationality of his montengerin father who is former international handball player. He has a big chance to become rotation player in 2017/2018 season and gain a lot of experience in ACB and Euroleague which could help him to find into draft consideration.
