STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • speedy with very good agility and stamina
  • extremely crafty ball handler. Has a lot of deadly combo dribble moves in his repertoire. Can shift gears
  • tremendous overall skillset and feel for the game. Makes everything effortlessly and look easy. Likely to be a very durable player with his style
  • can sell his moves with his whole body. Doesn’t plan his moves, uses whatever defense gives him
  • balanced between scoring and assisting. Equally good in both categories. Likes to score but keeps others involved
  • creates own shots at will. Can also shoot off the bounce from behind the arc
  • good pick and roll executor. Can really manipulate the screens. Reads the defense well
  • solid court vision. Able to throw fancy pass with either hand
  • very average size and frail frame
  • low release point. Worrying regarding his height. Needs to create really a lot of space to get the shot off
  • very good lateral movement but struggles to go over screens, lacks tools in general to compete with strong players
  • decision making isn’t perfect yet. Can’t avoid making the same mistakes – mostly questionable passess
OUTLOOK
Zagars is a player with phenomenal skillset for someone his age. He is really smooth on the court, has a great ball instincts and natural feel. His upside seemed to be hampered by physical limitations but he made a late significant growth and you can rarely find such a gifted prospect. That is why he is a must follow moving forward also for the NBA executives.
