Long forward with great mobility for size and a nicely developed, versatile offensive game. On PnR able to play both as a screen setter, quickly rolling to the rim or popping to the side for a shot as well as ball handler delivering it to bigs with good timing. Feel like he improved his outside shot a little bit and looked very good from the FT line which promises a lot for the future.

High IQ, understands the game very well and is able to counter defensive moves with passes across after getting the ball on PnR’s or sneaky drives inside when sees open lane. Very good playing off the dribble from the perimeter or face-up inside, has a pretty fast first step for a player his size and is a crafty finisher around the rim with a soft touch using either hand. Not as lethal back to the basket as face-up, sometimes has a hard time trying to keep his base which can be also seen on the other end when defending big guys inside. Nimble feet allow his to move smoothly around on defense and knows where he has to be to help, only occasionally has some trouble sliding, rotating quickly enough or recovering after screens when matched up against a lot faster opponents. Maybe not the most athletic or strongest player but compensates a lot with exceptional positioning for rebounds on both ends and easy shot opportunities.

ADRIÀ DOMENECH

Team: Joventut Badalona            Born: 10/07/2002

Position: Small Forward

Height: 6’7

Adrià Domenech is also one of the best players of his generation in Spain. He most likely hasn’t reach physical maturity yet and keeps growing. Like other two evaluated by me Spaniards, Adria plays either for U16 & U18 teams of Joventut. He’s having a good season and is one of the leaders of the team but some of his performances were disappointing. It’s normal because he is a long term prospect considering he is skinny and a bit slow but he needs to be more consistent day in & day out. In my eyes he has potential to be the best Spanish player of his generation in 2/3 years. There is a lot to like in his personality. Domenech is ambitious and wants to improve in all his aspects of the game.

PHYSICAL PROFILE

Adrià has an huge room for improvement and possess long limbs. He is well coordinated but needs to work on his body and quickness.

OFFENSE

Makes a lot of grab & go plays in his age group. He has a strange mechanics but somehow shots it with high percentages. Can handle the ball really well for his height and remains active without it in his hands. Keeps improving his court vision every time I watch him.

On the other hand has troubles on playing one on one against faster players from the perimeter.

DEFFENSE

He can guard easily outside of the paint thanks to very good lateral movement. Provides even some rim protection thanks to his wingspan. Collects rebounds easily if doesn’t suffer from physical disadvantage. Has considerable potential to become impactful player on this end of the court as well.

Adrià Domènech (2002, Joventut Badalona)

Possibly the best prospect of the Penya. Tall and slender with an athleticism uncommon for a player of his characteristics. Most likely will grow a little more. He is a player that is getting better and improving either his weaknesses and skills. His mechanics of shooting is not ideal at all but it is improving and he increases the percentages. He has to improve the finishing ability, especially with the left hand. In low post does not have go to moves but his height and wingspan help him to get buckets. Not productive against stronger centers. Has a notable court vision but sometimes wants to do things very fast and loses the ball. Needs to make a big adjustment defensively. If the attacker is faster he usually passes him by. And when more bulky he gains space and end up relatively easy.
