STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • decent height for the swingman standing at 6’7 without shoes
  • good upper and lower body strength
  • very good shooting confidence. Can pull it up off the dribble in a good rhythm. Creates attempts for himself in isolations
  • developed nice scorer mentality
  • unselfish for a scorer especially moving the ball ahead in transition
  • body absorbs a lot of contact. Can force his way to the rim during penetrations
  • above average rebounder for position
  • has ability to make some difficult shots, lay ups
  • not overly fluid and explosive
  • not proved as a scorer on good level
  • plays at one pace
  • can be very reactive after bad plays
OUTLOOK
Alipiev had a very successful FIBA U18 Championships in summer of 2017. Used to be a bit out of radar before and with improved athleticism he could even be considered one of the most interesting European swingman in his age group. Shooting potential is definitely there but he has a long way to go to become more than just a very good scorer on low level.
