STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • solid frame and body, strong presence inside
  • plays with precision, double double machine potential
  • very nice rebounding instincts, positions himself pretty well on both offensive and defensive glasses
  • can finish with both hands around the rim, has a somewhat soft touch
  • developed outside shooting even though the mechanics are not the best at this particular time
  • efficient passer on low post and top of the key, possesses the vision to follow the off-ball movement
  • great footwork on the post, can create himself good looks by turning from both shoulders
  • inconsistent player, unable to sustain his great performances back to back
  • shies away from competition, tries to be full efficient with his energy
  • has trouble defending a little away from under the rim, slow feet
  • not tall enough to play center in pro level now
  • takes unnecessary shots and tries to take over the game by himself
    sometimes.
OUTLOOK
Fenerbahçe player İsmail Karabilen has been able to show his capacity in several European competitions so far, has to potential to be a solid player in Europe. What is intriguing about him is his passing from the center position. Still growing and still needs to grow a bit more to be a real center position candidate. Biggest weakness of him is his mental focus on games, he tends to get angry real quick on the court and can’t play with the same focus level at every game. If he can grow his mentality as well, no reason for him not being able to play at professional level.
