STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • really good passer using both hands – passes are very strong and accurate
  • very solid pick and roll reads
  • muscular body type both upper and lower. Frame is already strong and will fill out even more
  • good tone setter – can throw an outlet pass in transition but knows when to use whole 24 seconds
  • active off the ball, looks for it constantly and wants to be an executor with short shot clock
  • comfortable ball handler – never looks down, pressure doesn’t bother him to run set play or pass to low post man
  • quick laterally, goes hard above the screens
  • acceptable three point shooter – trusts in this ability. Shoot is high arching but mechanics could be corrected
  • above average leaping ability altough he lacks some burst
  

  • doesn’t get to the rim a lot
  • needs to improve 1on1 skills. It’s not bad but far from being a threat. Uses mid range pull up pretty well but seems predictable and not dynamic enough
  • not perfect body language. Confidence level seems not to catch up with predispositions
OUTLOOK
Valunta is a point guard with decent body built. His court vision is good but not exceptional. That is why he needs to contribute more offensively (drives, energy) to stand out more and establish himself as an interesting prospect. In my opinion he would play for his age national team in almost every other country in Europe.
