STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • very good and muscular body frame
  • can really impress with the strength and athleticism on his positition. Close to elite level
  • knows how to use physical advantage on the court. Either to create a separation, deny off the ball or to clear space to grab a rebound
  • strong first step. Can control his body, pace and range of the strides
  • can excel in the open court using his superior speed
  • fundamentally sound shooter with not the quickest but repeatable motion and three point range. Has pull up jumpers in his arsenal. Creates own perimeter shots consistently
  • plays with good intensity. Runs back to defense as quick as possible
  • equally strong lower body. Good defensive stance and lateral movement. Body contains dribble penetrations and allow him to contest shots
  • attacks to the rim with reckless abandon at times
  • needs to work on passing and decision making if expected to run the team full time.
  • stays low to the ground with his dribble but ball handling could use some refinement. It’s not tight yet especially under pressure or at full speed
OUTLOOK
Arturs signed 8 year deal with Baskonia in 2015. He is a younger brother of Rodions – 2017 NBA Draft 1st rounder. He is an excellent athlete who was ready to compete with grown men very quickly. Young Kurucs recovers a lot by physical attributes but some part of his potential depends on his growth. He can be capable scorer on pro level and moreover has a great intangibles. Has all the tools to become at least solid two-way player for very good teams in Europe.
