Zachary Ensminger (01’, 6’4’’, Guard) Focal point of the team, getting inside regularly off the dribble distributing the ball very well and delivering points in the important moments especially in the game for a 3 rd spot. Has an ability to deliver timely passes, tight dribble and a good overall feel for the game. Plays passing lanes, has a good sense for the steals and guards fairly. He’s shooting from the perimeter wasn’t the best getting only – 4/18. He averaged 13pts, 6reb, 5.3ast, 2stl, 2.8TO’s.

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • solid size standing at good 6’4
  • broad shoulders, good positional strength and decent athleticism
  • can play either backcourt spot
  • great positional rebounder
  • fierce competitor, always plays with really solid level of aggressiveness. Consistent with his attitude
  • above average basketball IQ and knowledge of the game
  • very good defender. Can take challenge of guarding of opposite team go to scoring backcourt options
  • likes pushing the tempo
  • high character kid and very good teammate. Unselfish. Easy to coach
  • didn’t fully refine his playmaking skills yet
  • stroke is projectable but brings somewhat underwhelming results in the games so far
  • pounds the ball hard and keeps the dribble low but doesn’t possess much wiggle. Not that gifted 1 on 1
  • lacks great length
  • at times can look a bit in between 1 and 2 position
  • sometimes gets too hard on himself
OUTLOOK
Zach is a son of long time pro Chris Ensminger who is currently director of player development in Orange Academy of Ulm where he plays. While he is not the most gifted from talent standpoint, he is a real worker who keeps improving and possess winning mentality. Has a potential to be a backup guard in German Bundesliga given his two way game and intangibles.
