ARISTIDE MOUAHA (6’3, 2000, GUARD, STELLAZZURRA) – One of the most positive surprises of tournament. It was very refreshing to see potentially high level African guard prospect in Europe. Mouaha who played on loan caused a lot of damage for opponents thanks to his energy and relentless attitude. He plays very much in the style of American athletic guards. Has a rare combination of power, body control and explosiveness which help him to finish around the rim also in traffic. Moreover what is even more intriguing, those tools are combined with at least acceptable IQ. He has no troubles at all handling the ball and shooting stroke looks developable.

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • his bulky frame gives him strength advantage on PG position
  • powerful athlete with outstanding body control. Really dynamic first step, good bounce and hangtime
  • unafraid to make plays in the crowd. Body stands contract very well
  • excellent end to end speed allow him excel in open court. Makes a difference in transition offense
  • has all the ingredients to be good positional defender. His energy looks great also on non attacking half
  • plays with poise. Personality and attitude praised by coaching staff
  • projectable shot creation and stroke
  • quick & fairly crisp handles
  • just ok court vision. Unlikely to surprise you with outstanding dimes
  • doesn’t have long ways to go but still lacks overall polish beside superior slashing ability

OUTLOOK
Mouaha is a scoring energetic guard who plays similar style to American guards. It was refreshing to finally notice potentially high level African backcourt prospect in Europe who moreover possess adequate IQ among countless intriguing bigs from that part of the world. Aristide needs to keep his shooting reliable and keep working on typical PG qualities to reach full potential which can possibly be very good Italian Serie A teams.
