PREDRAFT MEASUREMENTS

Preview: Prospects in Pro Leagues - Eurocup
Mantzoukas made his pro debut in Greece league while he was still 14 years old, at the age of 15 he made his debut in FIBA Champions League (3rd strongest European international competition) and made his debut in Eurocup when he was 16 years old. Already has experience from top level competitions even though not being draft eligible for two years. Also broke the scoring record on ANGT Tournaments in Munich this year, scoring 49 points in one match. There were some rumours about him signing a multi-year contract with Olympiacos this offseason but no official signing and he is still a player of Promitheas at the time of writing this post. Versatile forward with all around offensive game. Likes to push the ball forward after grabbing the defensive rebounds, has the fluidity with the ball and is dangerous on open court. In halfcourt offense he plays mostly behind the three point line and can attack the rim with his long strides or take a shot. His shooting motion is solid but lacks consistency in his shot. Could make better decisions in offense too. On the defensive end he struggles with guarding better athletes which could be a liability on a higher level in the future.

Munich AdidasNGT: Top Prospects
Lefteris Mantzoukas (SF/PF | 207 cm | ‘03) ~ Promitheas Patras

Statistically the most dominant player of the tournament. Averaged 32.0 ppg with 12.8 rpb. Against Alba he had a monster game with 49 points and 19 rebounds and his PIR on that match was 65 – only two players had a better performance on one match in ANGT history (Nikola Mirotić PIR 84 vs FMP in 2009 and Dragan Bender PIR 66 vs Virtus in 2014). Good size and mobility for a wing. Has good motor. Good penetrator, his long strides and good footwork enable him to get to the rim. Uses his body for protection and has ability to draw fouls and get to the free throw line – was very good at the FT line with 45/51 (88.2%) during the tournament. His technical skill set isn’t on the highest level, especially needs to improve his handles and also fix his shooting technique to become a better shooter from the 3pt range. In defense there is still a lot of room for improvement in his lateral reactions and also in reading the offensive player.

Adidas All-Star International game recap
ELETHERIOS MANTZOUKAS (FORWARD, GREECE) – One of the most intriguing names in the roster especially regarding his outstanding 12 point performance last week vs Olympiacos Piraeus. Mantzoukas helped himself one more time and finished the game with the only double double. Like most of the Greek prospects he is in big degree early developed but you have to give it back to his skillset which is polished way beyond age group.

Evaluation 2002-2003

U16 OVERVIEW
Eleftherios Mantzoukas name emerged really quickly. He surpassed Giorgos Papagiannis and became the youngest ever Greek player to play and score in Top division (14 years 6 months and 7 days). Shortly after talented prospect produced 12 points vs European powerhouse Olympiacos Piraeus. He also had early showings on international youth scene – AdidasNGT tournament with 3 years older players and Adidas All-Star international game in 2002 generation roster. He picked up the basketball when he was 6 in Ioannina from where he transfered to Promitheas Patras at the age of 12. Mantzoukas is quite well rounded forward. He seems a bit early developed from physical standpoint but his mindset is what makes him mature way above peers level. He is not only fearless and able to make plays with confidence but also has very professional habits & work ethic. Mantzoukas also possess above average dribbling and IQ for 14yo player standing at 6’8. It is easy to label him as future member of domestic Euroleague teams but it’s too early to judge his possible NBA output.

Recap: Best Prospects at L'Hospitalet Adidas Next Generation Tournament
Eleftherios Mantzoukas (204 cm) from Greece finished the tournament averaging 7 points and 5.7 rebounds.

Mantzoukas has such an impressive physic for a kid of his age. He was able to show good maturity and toughness (must take into consideration that he was playing against 2&3 years older guys). Due to his height, he was grabbing many rebounds.

He was also able to shoot from outside with a good efficiency and had a smart playing style what helped him to get some easy buckets.
