Recap: Best Prospects at L'Hospitalet Adidas Next Generation Tournament
Jesús Carralero (199 cm) from Spain played Small-Forward for the Andalusian team and finished the tournament averaging 15 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Carralero has a good physic. He was neither top scorer of his team nor had a good shooting from three. Despite that he has been, in my eyes, the guy with the biggest impact for his team. He was quite regular and got his buckets mainly thanks to his tough penetrations. Also he was getting a good number of rebounds but what I think surprised all of us has been his jumping capability. That combined with his aggressive attitude on the court on both ends made him able to block shots (2.5 per game) and produce some highlight reel dunks.

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • fast hands on defense. His attackers can’t create separation without big effort while guarded by him
  • really valuable player in fast break offense
  • can really drive to the hoop and finish against bigger defenders
  • his great athleticism allows him to make dunks easily and he can even play inside thanks to being quite ripped
  • his competitive attitude allows him to lead his team even though they are from the same age group
  • fast even if he runs with the ball in his hands so he can really create his own shoots
  • needs to reduce TO numbers. Average passer in best case scenario
  • he gets lost on screens often allowing the attackers going to the hoop
  • sometimes make crazy shots that he shouldn’t take
  • cannot really utilize his offensive rebounding potential
OUTLOOK
Carralero has a great tools for his age and is considered one of the best Spanish prospects in this generation. There is still some work to do in order to polish his skillset. If he learns how to avoid little mistakes he makes frequently he could really become a key player and clear cut candidate for playing Unicaja senior team in near future.
