Sandro Mamukelashvili, Milwaukee Bucks – 54th overall

Mamukelashvili played collegiately at Seton Hall and impressed with his unique offensive skillset. He is a 6’11 big with playmaking and shooting ability. This makes him a good fit with the Bucks who like to surround Giannis Antetokounmpo with shooters. Mamukelashvili can space the floor and play a similar offensive role as Brook Lopez. Due to the Bucks being the defending champion, Mamukelashvili might not play much next season but will fit their system well when called upon.

NCAA STANDOUTS 2020/2021

Sandro Mamukelashvili – Seton Hall

17.5 PTS, 7.6 REB, 3.2 AST, 1.1 STL, 0.6 BLK, 43.4 FG%, 33.6 3P%

Mamukelashvili was named co-winner of Big East Player of the Year after finishing in a three-way tie. This recognition is well-deserved after a strong senior season in which he was the second leading scorer in the conference and ranked sixth in rebounding. A big reason for the Georgian native’s success this year is his versatility on the offensive end. Mamukelashvili took on a leading role on offense this season and thrived thanks to his ability to score inside and shoot from beyond the arc. Standing at 6’11, he ranked third on the team in 3P%.

SANDRO MAMUKELASHVILI (Georgia, Seton Hall)

Smooth lefty Forward has interesting history. Born in New York city, grew up in Georgia which is the country of his parents. Wasn’t widely recognized before he made a significant growth in High School and arrived in Italy where he played for Angelico Biella. Later he went back to States to prepare for college in Montverde Academy and committed to Seton Hall. Sandro has exceptional skillset for 6’10 player as he produces a lot with the ball in his hands and can kick the ball out to open teammates like legitimate full time playmaker. He also posses nice body control which helps him a lot regarding his slashing ability. Also at his best shooting from the baseline. Seems like he still doesn’t get enough recognition as befits high level prospect.

Evaluation 1999-2001

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • adequate size for a combo forward combined with + 7 foot wingspan. Very good quickness for a player his size
  • possess very good driving ability and body control. Uses shot fake perfectly. Has good finishing touch
  • plays a relentless and attacking style
  • crashes the boards offensively
  • light on his feet. Never misses a chance to finish with the dunk
  • has some spot up shooting skills. Very efficient from the baseline
  • decent passer
  • doesn’t have good post game. Rarely able to execute height advantage
  • shooting off the dribble
OUTLOOK
Lefty Forward was born in New York but grew up in Georgia which is the country of his parents. He is kind of late bloomer who made a significant growth in High School. He was a bit unknown player before joining Angelico Biella in Italy. Last season before accepting scholarship offer from Seton Hall Sandro spent in Montverde Academy. He is still a bit underrated wing who brings amazing versitality and take-over type of mentality which can allow him to be taken him into draft consideration if development goes the right way.
