STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • decent length and athleticism. Very mobile
  • very good lateral movement for a player standing at 6’11
  • does really good job defending the post at youth competition. Denies the ball close to the basket, takes pride in stopping his man. Can possibly translate it to the next level as the frame fills out
  • offers very good rim protection as his reach is combined with solid anticipation
  • can roll wisely to the rim after setting the screens
  • pretty quick leaping ability. Able to play above the rim
  • surprisingly good high-low passer
  • legs are a bit skinny, needs to bulk up his upper body as well
  • lacks low post moves in his offensive repertoire s
  • seems to be raw offensively in general. Scores almost exclusively after occasional put backs or after finishing very easily play created by teammate.
  • just average rebounder
  • quite mechanical. IQ is improving but slow decision maker 
OUTLOOK
Sow possess upside but for now is raw. He needs to improve his rebounding skills which could notably raise his quality as a potential high level defensive Center. He is a player who covers a lot of ground defensively. He contests all the shots around and even if he doesn’t manage to get the block, his length bothers opponents and forces to change the trajectory of the shot. He can possibly excel in his role while surrounded by better talent. It is very interesting how his career will be evolving after moving to France from Real Madrid youth teams where he will have a better chance to practise with senior team and play for Asvel in strong U21 LNB Espoirs league.
