STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • adequate height for the guard standing at 6’5
  • active in half court offense. Type of player who likes to be around the bal. At the same time under control. Good selection. Rarely forces plays
  • plays with unyielding determination. Fights to go over screens
  • has decent array of floaters/runners
  • high character player. Demeanor looks good. Interacts with the teammates well
  • shows flashes of operating from the pick and roll
  • solid shooter. Good preparation, wrist action, balance and speed of release. Can make mid range pull-ups after one-two dribbles
  • developable playmaking abilities. Makes effort to contribute as a secondary ball handler but handles still look rigid at times. Not really comfortable under the pressure defense
  • shoulders are slightly on the narrow side. Good not great athlete. Doesn’t have that much explosiveness to blow by defender at will
  • had some problems with his knee which seems to still limit his athletic potential
  • what does he do the best? A little bit caught between positions. Unlikely to be floor general with the ball. Not overly translatable game and tools as a scorer. Is he more than just hard worker to fill the roster on the next level?
OUTLOOK
Badu Buck appears to be somewhat underrated prospect who offers solid production, good mental attributes and fairly versitale game on the youth level. He undoubtedly has a pro potential for German leagues. However he needs to recover fully from his knee injury to reach his athletic potential, become better slasher and more aggresive attacker. Then his chances to play in better teams may notably increase.
