Jason George (01’, 6’7’’, Forward) Two-way forward that plays with a lot of effort and aggressiveness. Assigned to defend the most talented player on the opposing team, was doing a very good job limiting significantly their offensive impact. More focused on locking down the attacker and keeping his position than sticking his hands in passing lanes hence the low numbers off steals. Only took 9 attempts from beyond the arc usually off the catch relying more on his drives, ability to separate himself and get inside. Active on the boards, occasionally plays mid range, back to the basket and tries using fadeaways. Averaged 15pts, 4.8reb (2.3oreb, 2.5dreb), 1.8ast, 1stl, 1.3TO’s and was selected to All-Star Five.
Jason George (SF, Germany)
Amazing physical profile that will help him a find a place on pro basketball market. Good athlete with impressive motor, does help his team a lot with his energy in the transition. All around talent, with a very important deficiency which is shooting. Doesn’t take much jumpshots but there is still hope for him to develop a decent shooting game. His feel and understanding for the game is exciting especially on off ball movements you observe he knows where to be. His shooting performance will determine his position as a NBA prospect.
JASON GEORGE (6’7, Wing, Ratiopharm Ulm) – If someone wanted to produce documentary about Jason George it could be named „The jumpshot away from being NBA prospect”. Ratiopharm’s talent possess highly desired profile for highly desired wings nowadays. Standing around 6’7 with what seems to be good wingspan, he is much above average athlete for European standards. He is energetic player who crashes the glassess, is willing to play defense and outruns opponents in transition. Moreover he shows flashes of solid feel for the game visible in weakside cutting and moving the ball within offensive flow in half court. His touch on runners or Free Throws doesn’t look bad at all but somehow he seems to have extremely long ways to go as a shooter. Can miss open looks badly. If he converts those airballs for nothing but net shots then sky is the limit.

OUTLOOK | |
After a phenomenal 2016/2017 JBBL/NBBL season with Ehingen Urspringen, Jason George decided to move to Ratiopharm Ulm. He had a disappointing U16 European Championship where he looked passive and completely disappeared at times on the offensive end. Ulm will need to address his scoring mentality and shooting moving forward. Even without a great showing at the U16‘s, George is likely to become one of the best european wings in his generation. |
