RATI ANDRONIKASHVILI Georgian slithery guard possess unique ability to get downhill thanks to his sneaky athleticism and presents rare finishing package at the rim at the same time comparable to Roko Leni Ukic back in the day. His length gives him defensive potential where he is stealing machine but that comes with a lot of gambling. He is also a good passer but still has troubles controlling the rhythm of the game which shows in TO numbers, cannot play at different speeds, has carry the ball type of dribble and is rather poor shooter. While he still has a holes in his skillset, his talent and flashy performances make him look extremely intriguing at times. However biggest question mark may be his behaviour. Rati has one of the worst body languages I ever seen in my scouting career because of constant complaining or demonstrating anger. If he never changes his problematic temperament he may remain longshot NBA prospect who is on pace to become Leb Gold player.

STRENGHTS WEAKNESSESS
  • already good size for Point Guard. Most likely not done growing
  • capable of getting into the paint out of pick and roll situations. Can change direction along the way
  • great defensive anticipation. Can embarrass the opponents with his steals
  • good speed with the ball in open court, can go coast to coast
  • displays nice pull up ability. Can also create shots on the perimeter for himself
  • not completely tight but still very good ball handling with either hand. Protects the ball perfectly with his body
  • has some craft and touch which can turn into nice finishing repertoire with improved frame and physicality
  • really advanced feel for the game
  • thinks the game like a veteran. Vocal on the court
  • much more smooth than explossive
  • not always aggressive as far as driving to the rim. Does he have lack of physicality complex?
  • can get dominated by better athletes
  • frame is heavily on the light side at the moment. Should fill out in future tho
  • better mid range than long distance shooter. Doesn’t have much confidence in his three pointer. Needs to work on this regard to keep the defense honest and use his tremendous pick and roll operating skills
  • passionate but not next play guy. Could be more even keeled and tough maybe
  • good not great passer. Won’t stand out with current ability on next level
OUTLOOK
Rati Andronikashvili is a finesse PG with plenty of upside to grow into down the road. He already possess well rounded playmaker abilities. While displaying some oldschool flavour to his game especially regarding the way he handles the ball he also can make modern flashy plays. Tibilisi native joined Baskonia in Spain in 2016/2017 season.
